“A vulva simboliza o nascimento, onde a terra é o útero principal.
Happy International Women’s Day! ••••• I have had women from all around the world: friends, family members, casual acquaintances and total strangers contribute as models for my work. ••••• I can’t thank my models enough; together we are helping others to reclaim their individuality and influencing cultural attitudes to transform the way they see the female body. #internationalwomensday #flowers #garden #sisterhood #birth #mothernature #womenempowerment #womeninart #artist #power
Thistle Mixed media 6×6” 🌳 Judgement comes in many forms and from many directions, but worst of all, women criticize themselves and their own bodies. This series creates a space free from comparisons, where each body is honored in all of its individuality. Choosing to portray vulvae as parts of nature is not about trying to make them “prettier” but about showing vulvae as they are: integral elements of the natural world we are a part of. The beauty, the strength, the very survival of nature depends on diversity. So too with humans. #birth #earth #mothernature #garden #flowers #thistle #artichoke #womenempowerment #womeninart #art #huffpostarts
Most societies in the world, through culture and tradition, have created an imbalance of gender roles. In societies where women are valued and have equal status, the quality of life improves in every aspect. I’ve noticed that there is a connection with the way women are treated and the way our natural world is treated. The world as a whole thrives when women have positions of power and equality. I feel there will always be room for individuals to celebrate their individuality and show the elemental power of the female body. The Diversity of Nature series is a forum where this can take place. 🌱 Mixed media 6×6" #flowers #nature #birth #mother #garden #womeninart #art #womenempowerment
